The Senior Wholesale Merchandising Manager of Merchandising Department for Crocs Japan is responsible for leading Japan’s in-season wholesale merchandising and key-account growth. The role will represent local market and account needs, translate regional direction into tailored assortments, and drive faster, more effective execution across wholesale segments.
As a people leader, this position will strengthen strategic partnerships and share of business with key accounts while improving productivity and quality growth. • Consolidate consumer, marketplace and customer insights, using performance data, partner feedback and competitive trends to provide clear recommendations to Regional and Pre-season Merchandising.
  • Build differentiated assortments and develop business cases for exclusive products, SMUs, collaborations and whitespace opportunities, balancing global/regional priorities with local and account needs.
  • Partner with Commercial and key accounts to grow share of business, improve assortment productivity and strengthen long-term partnerships through regular business reviews and marketplace engagement.
  • Lead seasonal GTM execution, product launches and account activations, driving cross-functional alignment across Commercial, Planning, Marketing, VM, Finance and Mono Brand Merchandising.
  • Lead trading, forecast/S&OP and performance reviews, translating sell-through, inventory, forecast and margin insights into assortment, pricing, promotional and corrective actions, as well as MBR/QBR recommendations.
  • Lead, coach and develop the merchandising team, setting clear priorities, building capability and reinforcing accountability for results.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in wholesale merchandising, buying or merchandising planning within footwear, fashion, sportswear or a related consumer business. Experience should include ownership of in-season merchandising, strategic key-account management and direct people leadership.
  • Strong understanding of Japan wholesale, key-account dynamics, consumers and competitors, with the ability to translate regional strategy into differentiated assortments and in-season actions
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen across sell-through, inventory, forecasting, margin and productivity
  • Experience developing exclusive products, SMUs, collaborations and other account-specific growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated people leadership and strong stakeholder influence, with clear communication across regional, country, cross-functional and customer teams
  • Advanced Excel and presentation skills; native-level Japanese and business-level English; experience with business intelligence and merchandising systems preferred
